My new hobby

I have got a new hobby: playing baseball!. This weekend, Mum and Dad took me to a shop to buy a bat and a ball. Then, Dad and me went to Meguro Citizen Park to play baseball. I held the bat and Dad threw the ball, and I hit the ball as far as I could. I am still learning to hit the ball properly, because sometimes I missed the ball!!!

In Japan, many kids play baseball. When I visited Makoto's house (Makoto is my first friend in Tokyo) we played baseball at his home, but we used a hard-paper as a bat.

I think I am going to the park next time with Makoto or other friends to play baseball as we need more companies (not only Dad..... and Mum who just always sitting down watching us)

But today I think I can't go to play outside because it is raining and I have heard the thunders. Mum says I don't need to be scared with the thunders.

A Trip to Disneyland

Dear diary,

Last saturday I went to Tokyo Disneyland along with other children from Tokyo Indonesian School. We took a fast train from Tokyo Station to Disneyland Station (actually I forgot the name of the station, so just called it Disneyland Station...) We arrived at 9.30 am but people already lined up in all attractions and shows!!! Mum and Dad took turn to line up for me in each attraction, which was 40 minutes for a single show!!

My favourite attractions was the railroad show in the adventureland, where I saw the great valley of Dinosaurs. I also enjoyed watching Disney parades, especially the light parade in the evening. We went home at 10 o'clock in the evening. Of course we were very tired, but we had a great time. I'll be back to Disneyland in the near future, as my Dad said the ticket is not too expensive, but still I have to find a special occassion to convince my Mum and Dad why we should go there again (hm, I am thinking to celebrate Mum's birthday there....it's a good reason isn't it?)

I'll upload some photos from Disneyland very soon...

About Birthday

Dear Diary,

My first friend in Tokyo is Makoto. He is nearly 6 years old. His birthday is on 17 July and my Mum's birthday
is on 16 July and it means I have to bring 2 presents. On 17 August my Dad will celebrate his birthday..oh another present to give away...

In Melbourne, I have a friend named Faza, who has a same birthday with me. Last January we had a joint birthday party at Fairfiled Boathouse. The birthday song went like this: "Happy birthday to Faza and Fawwaz...". so every time I celebrate my birthday, I know Faza will celebrate his birthday too, whereever he is. Last January, when I turned 6 years old, Faza turned 8 years old...

My Weekend

Dear Diary,

I went to Tokyo Tower with Mum and Dad, on Saturday. We saw the whole city of Tokyo from the 150 metres observatory windows. I asked Mum and Dad to climb up to the 330 metres main observatory windows, but Dad got dizzy (hmmm... I thought he was a little bit scared). We took special instant photos inside the tower.

I remember when Mum took me to Rialto Tower in Melbourne. I think Tokyo Tower is taller than Rialto. But, yesterday in a Malaysian restaurant in Shinjuku, I saw a picture of Petronas, which is the tallest building in the world. I asked Mum and Dad to visit Petronas in the future.

Today, I am going to watch the Lion King 1 and 3 (Mum says: againnnn?) Well, the Lion King movies are my favourite one for the last two weeks. I love watching Uncle Scars and Timon. I also love singing the songs from the movies: "We Prepare" and "Circle of Life".

Oh, yes...I finished my blue dictionary book last night. Mum also read the time tunnel story for me. It's about the history of the world from 570 million years ago.

About myself

Dear readers,

My name is Fawwaz Naufal Farid. I was born in Makassar (it was called Ujungpandang) on 11 January 1998. I am 6,5 years old. My favourite toys are yu-gi-oh and dinosaurs. My favourite books are Mr Mcgee (I borrowed it from Coburg Library in Melbourne and read it 47 times with Mum and Dad!!!) and all of my activity books bought by Mum and Dad before we leaving for Tokyo).

My Mum has created this blog so I can write my diary every night before we go to bed. Well, I love writing letters for Mum and Dad. I remember in Melbourne, we played a game called "send a letter", where I wrote a short letter and put it under the door. Then, I yelled, "knock..knock.. there's a letter for you Mum!"

My Global Life

Dear Diary,

I flew to Tokyo on 30 May 2004, after spending 3 years and 2 months in Melbourne. My mum has got a new job in Tokyo, so we have started a new chapter in our journey. Japanese language sounds very funny. We have experienced difficulties in reading the characters: hiragana, katagana and kanji. So far, I can say: Haik! which means yes.

I miss Melbourne. I miss my school, my teacher Rosa Pantaleo and all of my friends, especially Khodar. I have promised to write them soon.

Mum and Dad took me to an Indonesian School and a Japanese School, so I can have an idea which school I would go. I think I am going to Indonesian School, which is 3 minutes walk from our new apartment.
